Carter Larry is a dedicated member of the Easterseals Joliet Region Board of Directors, bringing a wealth of leadership experience in public safety, education, and organizational development. His commitment to service and advocacy reflects his passion for supporting children, adults, and families with disabilities in our community.
Carter currently serves as the Director of Safety and Security for Valley View School District. Prior to this role, he dedicated more than two decades to the Bolingbrook Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant in charge of the Office of Professional Standards and Media Relations. During his tenure, he oversaw internal affairs, training, recruitment, background investigations, policy development, and also served as the department’s Public Information Officer.
His educational background is equally extensive. Carter holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice Management, a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, and a Master of Arts in Business Administration. He has completed post-baccalaureate studies in Police Executive Administration and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s prestigious School of Police Staff and Command. He has also received advanced training in military leadership and executive management. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
As a board member, his leadership and vision help guide Easterseals Joliet Region in fulfilling its mission of empowering individuals with disabilities and their families to achieve their fullest potential.
