Help Easter Seals Create Solutions and Change Lives A place to link Parents of special needs Kids together. Are you a “seasoned” Parent of a special needs Child and would like to share your expertise? Or have you been thrust into this new world of special needs and are looking for some guidance through the system from Parents who have been there? Or are you a Parent that would just like to meet other Parents that understand what you are going through? Special Parents for Special Kids is a parent led support group meeting every second Thursday of each month from 7:00 8:00 pm at Easter Seals 212 Barney Drive, Joliet. Free childcare is available on-site, sponsored by UCP. Call Machell (815) 725-8089 for details or e-mail: chrisandmachell@sbcglobal.net Meetings will include round table discussions on hot topics, sharing experiences, guest speakers on expressed topics of interest, linking Parents of Children with similar needs and refreshments! Creating solutions and changing lives is what we do at Easter Seals. Join us and you, too, can make a difference and help people with disabilities achieve their goals. Volunteer your time to share your talents, whether performing office work, volunteering at events and camps, or another way you can help. Need more convincing? In the words of Edgar "Daddy" Allen, founder of Easter Seals, "We have but one life. We get nothing out of that life except by putting something into it. To relieve suffering, to help the unfortunate, to do kind acts and deeds is, after all, the one sure way to secure happiness or to achieve real success. Your life and mine shall be valued not by what we take...but by what we give." To find out more about volunteering for Easter Seals, contact us.
